Call to Balance
I am a wooden box, hear me now...
after all it’s not very often that you listen to Nature these days. What with your glass and metal boxes pressed to your eyes and those plastic plugs in your ears, it really amazes us old trees how much you have forgotten.
How much you have forgotten the calm of quiet, or Nature’s symphony of silence, That only in the silence of your outer world and mind will your soul be free to hear God’s whispers on the winds.
How much you have forgotten that what we say isn’t all we feel or mean,
That when you speak to someone with one eye on your phone, your eyes, and so your soul, can only see but less than half the truth your friend has told.
How much you have forgotten that what you eat, touch, and feel becomes just who you are,
When you consume the lives of others, the lives of others become yours, their fears, and hopes, and dreams, and horrors, and pains and sufferings, and joys, and desires,
And it’s sad to say but it must be said, that once you enter that virtual looking glass, it seems you often leave your body behind,
We don’t know how it works, although its frighteningly clear to us, that in you special humans your soul consciousness body all live as one balanced being,
But that little metal, glass, and silicone box does certainly seem to cast a spell upon your souls, And when your souls lose your bodies you get knocked quite out of wack, we can’t say for certain if your souls ever really come quite all the way back...
What we really mean to say, is it seems to us that you humans have forgotten how to live a natural balanced life. I suppose it’s easy for us trees to see you clearly, after all, our roles in Mother Nature’s plan were written long ago, we have not your energy, souls, nor gifts of imagination and creation.
The role we have in this beautiful world is much simpler: to give.
We give air and homes to all living things, and in return the world helps us grow. Balance. But because you humans are special we give to you our most. Or rather, from your wonderful imaginations you create the most out of our simple natures.
So please, take this bit of wood that we have to offer. We made it to be a home for that little metal, glass, and silicone box that you all are fond of. We hope that you will take this simple part of us and use your imaginations to invest it with great power to bring balance back to your lives and souls.
It’s not meant to be a declaration of war, living vs non-living, organic vs synthetic. That is not who we are. We are Mother Nature’s giving trees and we just offer balance. It’s up to you humans, you spectacular creators, to use our gift for good and great.
